Despite (or possibly because of) her conservative upbringing, Anarie has always been interested in the steamy side of life. Frustrated with chaste kisses and closed doors in typical romance novels, she turned her eyes towards Anais Nin, D.H. Lawrence, Erica Jong, Pauline Reage and other authors her mother did not approve of. Knowing that life is most often a struggle, she finds characters who also struggle with hardship, discrimination, a lack of confidence, and restrictive societies fascinating and seeks to incorporate such characters into her writing. She also is not at all shy about the most intimate physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of her characters. A believer in lifelong learning, Anarie strives to refine her writing skills by attending conferences, taking classes, researching her topics and living life to the fullest. In addition to writing, she is an avid cook, a devoted wife, and a lover of laughter, animals, history, art, music, wine and good scotch.
