Queens of Hearts – a DCL Anthology – Call for Submissions

2019 Valentine’s Anthology

Nothing helps melt the wintry ice like a sultry collection of romantic literature, certain to captivate the mind, heart and soul of the reader. DCL Publications announces an open Call for Submissions for our 2019 Valentine’s anthology ‘Queens of Hearts.’

Submissions should be built around a Queen – any Queen, be creative and have fun! – and around the heart (or hearts) that she holds captive. DCL is looking for sweet, sultry, steamy and/or sensual plots that take readers into the world of the story as much as into the characters. Stories should be plot driven, original, and entertaining. Utilize your imagination. Go back in time to a historical period that inspires you. Create new worlds with new definitions of what makes a Queen. Build new cities, or tear down some old ones. The choice is yours; it is your voice that we want to hear. Entrap our minds and make us want more.

DCL Publications is looking for well-written, properly themed stories with developed characters and clear grammatical consistency. Submitted stories are not required to stay within a certain word count, but please keep submissions between Flash, Short, or Novella length. Persons wishing to submit novel-length works should do so separately.

Submissions are not required to remain in a certain heat level. As long as it is well-written and properly developed, you control your heat level.

The deadline for ‘Queens of Hearts’ submissions is Friday, November 16, 2018, by the close of the standard business day.

If you are already a part of the DCL family, you may send your submissions directly to editor Jean Watkins. All other submissions should be emailed to .
